It’s October! It’s Fall! And that means all things pumpkin spice for this girl! Are you a pumpkin lover? I sure am, but I also just love all things seasonal and festive. So any chance to celebrate this fall weather and colors, I’ll take it! I just love the crisp morning air this time of year and watching the leaves change into those bright, beautiful colors! Those golds and oranges are just stunning- sometimes I wish they would be this way all year long. But then I know I would miss the greens. God truly does make the most beautiful scenery and knows how to keep us guessing and appreciating…

Hair Training Must Haves
With baseball in full swing with summer games, it’s the perfect time to grab a hat and let your hair go an extra day! With these products and that baseball cap I can push my hair a few extra days trying to train it to go a little longer before washes. Because let’s face it, no matter your lifestyle, who has time to wash, dry, and style their hair ANY more than you have to? For me, especially with a baby on the way, I thought it was the perfect time to do a little hair training because I know I’m about to lose so much “me” time to do…

The Start of the One Room Challenge
I am so excited to share with you that I am participating in the One Room Challenge by Better Homes and Gardens! I have watched DIYers do this for a few years now, and I’m so excited to have a project to complete to jump in this Spring! Since we were building our home while our baby boy was being born, I have always had my heart set on what his nursery would look like here. I knew this would be my first big project in the new house, and I can’t wait to get started! It’s week one of the One Room Challenge. And Noah and I are more…

October Book Reviews
“Babies don’t come with a manual.” We’ve all heard this phrase so many times, but I never understood the truth until I had my own baby! There are so many areas of caring for your baby that you just wish you had a manual- and there is none! But when it comes to sleeping, I found a few books to be very helpful guides to teaching my baby how to sleep at night. This month I have been focusing on learning how to sleep train my newborn, so the audiobooks I listened to this month were geared toward this training. The Happiest Baby on the Block By Harvey Karp, M.D.…

September Book Reviews
Get out of your own wayBy Dave Hollis Get Out of Your Own Way is the first book Dave Hollis wrote, and he did an excellent job! If you’re a fan of Rachel Hollis’ writing, I think you’ll agree that it was a more masculine version of Girl Wash Your Face (which I absolutley loved as well). What I appreciate about both Dave and Rachel’s writing is that they are so authentic and real in their books, and they write about topics so many people can relate to, but there isn’t much content out there for! Not only is Dave’s book motivational and exciting, but you really get to know…

Planting The Garden
I’ve shared with you how the garden went last year– not so good. I didn’t have anything come up last year, so I was tempted to not waste my time again. But with the encouragement of some friends and fellow gardeners, I decided to still plant the garden this year. It is so much time and work to plant everything and try to keep it weeded, so to not have anything to harvest after all of that work was very disappointing. But I knew I’d be disappointed if I didn’t do anything. So, back to the drawing board I went…. What can I do to make the garden more successful?…

Hillbilly Elegy By J.D. Vance I will tell you that there is a lot of language used that I don’t care for, and would not normally recommend a book with this type of language. But I think it was used appropriately to give the reader an accurate depiction of how the author was raised, and it makes you appreciate even more what he has made of himself. I found this story hit close to home, and made me think about the communities that are so near to me, but I’m sure there are stories very similar all over the country that anyone can appreciate. I initially picked this book up…

It’s Not Supposed to be This Way By Lysa TerKeurst This book hit home! Lysa is so real and transparent about the disappointments and challenges she’s faced. What’s so incredible about this book is that Lysa is in the midst of the disappointing events as she’s writing Its Not Supposed To Be This Way. When I listened to this audiobook, I had just come through the most challenging season of my life. I can see how listening to this in the midst of heartache would be powerful and encouraging to press on in your own journey. Knowing that someone else is experiencing hardships at the same time as your challenges…

Niagara Falls
I quickly fell in love with the beautiful views of Niagara Falls. I used to have a mindset when I was traveling that I didn’t want to do all the “touristy” things. I’d rather get off the beaten path and find “cool” adventures and views that no one else sees! But the more traveling I’ve done, the more I realize there is a reason everyone is going there! So I’ve started to enjoy the experiences I used to call “tourist traps”. With that being said, some experiences don’t quite live up to the hype for me. So I’ve put together a list of “Do’s and Don’ts” for your trip to…

Niagara-on-the-Lake
It was my first trip to Canada, and my first experience in wine country. And let me tell you, Niagara-on-the-Lake exceeded my expectations! This little getaway was all about REST & REFRESH, and NOTL was the perfect escape! NOTL has so much to offer: many restaurants, beautiful wineries, quaint downtown and shopping, and it’s truly a place to unplug. We loved our stay here, and I’d love for you to experience it too! So I’ve put together a little recap of our time here so you can plan your next get-a-way to Niagara-on-the-Lake! I am all about the B&B! The right Bed and Breakfast is so quaint, makes you feel…
